Visio Divina is a relatively new practice in contemplative spaces, although there is a long history of using images in prayer, such as the Christian Orthodox use of icons. For us, a Visio Divina practice is a meditation on the Incarnation. At heart, there are basic questions successive generations of Christians have needed to answer: what is the relationship between God and this physical, material world in which we live? What is holy and what is not holy? What in our lived experience draws us to God and what draws us from God?
We believe contemplation is a gift, and we offer our teachings without charge, trusting in the shared generosity of the community. Financial support makes this work possible and allows us to make these teachings accessible to all. If you’re unable to give, you are still wholeheartedly welcome—your presence is an important part of what sustains this work.
